BC permits in the Tetons

Even though Glacier is the focal point, the Flathead and the surrounding area presents boundless activities, talk about it here.

BC permits in the Tetons

Post by Mort&Linda »

We have spent most of our back packing time in Glacier, but this year we want to do a major part of the Crest Trail in the Tetons. Their website seems to indicate BC permits are quite similar to Glacier's--once you have a permit you can pick it up the day before and then modify it based on availability. We got a permit that is somewhat close to what we want, but we will need to extend it and modify it. You can request a third of the BC permits in advance and they hold the rest for walkins at 3 BC offices. Has anyone had recent experience with how the Teton system really works and any advice about how to make it work best for our needs?

Thanks for any help you can give us either on the Chatline or by private message.
