In my opinion this was not a rescue. No one was injured. This "extraction" was done because the "hikers" were unprepared and unwilling to accept the consequences of that. I've been caught late a few times and spent some cold nights on a ledge or slope in the mountains. Being uninjured I accepted the fact that I would suffer some because of my tardiness.zozeppelin wrote: ↑Sat Sep 23, 2023 7:49 am 9 people needed to be rescued halfway to Dragon’s Tail Link
What a thorough article and quite fascinating. A lot of parts coming together for this Search and Rescue team over the years. Very impressive I would say.llholmes1948 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 08, 2017 8:07 pm article in the Flathead Beacon:

Yeah, it sounds like they were not prepared and then didn't just deal with the consequences by hiking out in the dark or turning around before it got too dark.Ear Mountain wrote: ↑Sat Sep 23, 2023 10:01 amIn my opinion this was not a rescue.
