Nearly all of Waterton closed due to flooding

Even though Glacier is the focal point, the Flathead and the surrounding area presents boundless activities, talk about it here.

Nearly all of Waterton closed due to flooding

Too much rain and not enough vegetation after the fires have caused rock and mud slides. I read that people got trapped on the wrong side of a slide that went across the road.

Sorry for posting this in the wrong place. Should have gone in the Waterton section.

Anyway, here’s the most recent update:

Update: June 13, 13:00
After yesterday's assessments, the closure area has been reduced to the northwest portion of Waterton Lakes National Park.

Closures remain in effect for:
Areas accessible from Akamina and Red Rock parkways
Trails on Crandell Mountain, including Bear's Hump

While these areas and parkways remain closed, it is safe to travel to Waterton Lakes and explore open areas. In addition to trails, Bertha Lake, Bertha Bay, Boundary Bay and Alderson Lake backcountry campgrounds have reopened.

Respect all signage and closures, it’s the law. Entering closed areas could result in fines up to $25,000 under the Canada National Parks Act.

Safety remains a top priority for Parks Canada. We will continue to take a measured approach to assessing and reopening areas.

Conditions in Waterton are improving but anything off the Akamina Parkway and the Bears Hump are still closed.

Thanks, teapot.
I'm not headed there myself (or not soon), but this should help folks planning an itinerary.
The fires in B.C. seem to be early and bad this year.
We get many gray, leaden afternoons (from the ash stream) to mornings that started out bluebird.
